27+ Years of Lending Experience, Right Here in Hawaii

Kevin Collman has spent more than 27 years in the lending and financial services industry, with experience across Oregon, Texas, and Hawaii. He's worked with everyone from first-time homebuyers to complex self-employed entrepreneurs. From building an IT business in Oregon to opening mortgage branches on the Big Island and Oahu, managing resort operations at Mauna Kea, and leading teams at Fairway Mortgage and Priority Financial, Kevin has spent his career helping people navigate complex financial decisions. Now he's putting that experience to work for Hawaii's small business owners alongside his son Kingston, who co-founded Paradise Working Capital.

Kevin started his career in Eugene, Oregon, where he built and ran his own IT business — K&D Computers — while simultaneously originating residential mortgages at Carteret Mortgage Corporation. In 2003, he made the move to Hawaii and opened a mortgage branch on the Big Island, serving Kona businesses through some of the most challenging economic times in modern history.

After the 2008 financial crisis, Kevin pivoted into resort operations at Mauna Kea Resort Services in Waimea, where he managed high-end residential units, oversaw maintenance teams, and ensured world-class client experiences. It was there he developed the operational discipline that defines his approach today.

Kevin then returned to mortgage lending in Texas, working with Amcap Mortgage and Success Mortgage Partners before joining Pilgrim Mortgage in San Antonio — hands-on experience in one of the country's largest and most competitive lending markets. When Pilgrim's owner wanted to expand into Hawaii, he tapped Kevin to open and run the new branch out of Kevin's own Hawaii address, bringing Kevin back home in 2017.

Running Pilgrim's Hawaii branch surfaced a real limitation: the company's underwriting department couldn't keep pace with the loan volume and sizes Kevin was originating. In 2018, Kevin ended the relationship and moved to Fairway Independent Mortgage in Kapolei (2018–2020), where he hired, trained, and developed teams of loan officers while building relationships with Realtors and referral partners across Oahu. He then stepped into enterprise-level management at Priority Financial Network (2020–2021), where he was recognized with the Award of Excellence for Exceptional Team Building and Motivation. Most recently, Kevin served as Branch Manager for The Kevin Collman Team, Powered by Nexa Mortgage (2022–2024).

Today, Kevin co-founded Paradise Working Capital with his son Kingston to bring a new approach to business lending in Hawaii — combining decades of financial expertise with cutting-edge AI technology to match business owners with 50+ lenders in minutes, not weeks.

"I've spent 27 years in lending. I've seen too many good business owners get turned down by banks who don't understand Hawaii's market. I started Paradise Working Capital to change that — pairing local expertise with smart technology to find the funding that fits. My son Kingston is the founder. I'm the expertise. Together, we're building something Hawaii businesses can count on."
